Chat is a self-regulating Social Networking site for people with a Chatham Islands connection. You can chat, post stuff, swap and sell stuff, announce and publicise. Anyone that does not have a Chathams connection will be deleted. This is for the whanau of the Islands only!

While we iron out any teething problems, we have set up several 'fake' accounts to get the ball rolling. Dont be offended by anything that they do or say,... they are just 'test."

This site is non-political. That means that you have to keep your politics out. This is a community site. Yes, we do have categories listed as Maori/Moriori and we have categories such as Rekohu and Wharekauri and Chathams, but they are for you to acknowledge (if you choose) which category your post should be listed under. They do not imply anything else.

Any objectionable or offensive material will be deleted and the accounts they originated from may also be suspended or deleted, and we reserve the right to do so without any warnings or discussion at all.

Chatham-islands.co.nz/chat does encourage our teenagers to get involved in this social network so that its available for them without the distractions of the wider Facebook community.
